Winter Adventures such as Ice Walks in Jasper National Park

“Since we can’t export the scenery, we’ll have to import the tourists.” – William Cornelius Van Horne

William Cornelius Van Horne, then General Manager of the Canadian Railway, had a vision to bring the beauty of the Canadian Rocky Mountains to the rest of the world. He commissioned  an impressive hotel (Fairmont Banff Springs) and for more than 130 years, people from all over the world visit Banff National Park, it’s sister park, Jasper National Park and the majestic Canadian Rockies. For fun, we’re switching things up by bringing the True North Rockies to San Francisco. For three days, November 30th to December 2nd, our team will participate in the Annual Winter Walk SF, a 5 week holiday pop-up pedestrian plaza at Union Square.  (And you can’t celebrate winter without the Canadian Rockies.) Stop by our booth and say hi; Step into our picture-perfect giant snow globe. Experience our virtual reality adventures – snowshoe through a snowstorm at Lake Louise, explore frozen waterfalls, ice caves, and incredible ice formations on the Maligne Canyon IceWalk or skate in the shadow of a glacier on one of the world’s most spectacular outdoor ice rinks.

Prize Includes: Eight nights accommodation, daily breakfast for two, and winter activities such as skiing, skating, snowshoe and so much more!

How to Enter: Join us at Winter Walk San Francisco, November 30th to December 2nd 2018. Pull on our HBC Canada mittens & jump into our giant snowglobe. We’ll snap your picture with your phone. Then post your snowglobe photo to Instagram using #WeLoveWinter & #TNRContest. Finally follow us at @TrueNorthRockies.

Prime snowshoeing season in Banff & Lake Louise is normally late December through to early April.
Snowshoeing in Lake Louise, Banff National Park, will exceed your expectations.

Banff National Park and Jasper National Park offer just as many jaw-dropping scenic views and adrenaline-pumping experiences in winter as they do in summer. From snowshoe adventures to dog sledding the Great Divide, if you love the outdoors, the mountains or national parks, this is a trip of a lifetime!

Ice skating across Lake Louise, perhaps the most spectacular outdoor rink in the world.
Whether a gentle skate through the Ice Castle or a quick game of shinny, skating Lake Louise will stay with you forever.
